Guided Ketamine Sessions

Guided Ketamine Sessions are great for individuals who are currently in therapy, seeing their therapist/counselor on a regular basis, and are interested in experiencing ketamine as a part of their healing journey.

Ketamine has shown to be effective at treating Depression, PTSD/C-PTSD, Substance Use Disorder, Mood Disorder, Suicidal Ideation, and more.

Safia Lyon, APRN, is available for Guided Ketamine Sessions. She has received training through MAPS Psychedelic Science Conference in June 2023, the Ketamine Training Center (KTC) paired with the Internal Family Systems (IFS) in March 2023, and the Polaris Insight Center in November 2022. She has additional training in Trauma Management, PTSD, and Dysautonomia (an imbalance in the autonomic nervous system). She is currently in school working on her Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Certificate.

She is passionate about educating patients on the connection between physical and mental/emotional health. She believes that most mental health conditions (anxiety, depression, addiction, ADHD, ect.) are symptoms of unprocessed trauma. Our bodies and nervous systems hold on to these memories from the past, trying to protect us from the pain. It doesn’t matter how big or little we think the traumatic experience was, If we haven’t worked through the trauma, we will likely be stuck in it. When consciously or subconsciously faced by triggers or reminders of the trauma, we become dysregulated, and can oftentimes lose hope.

Ketamine can soften or relax the analytical or critical thinking part of our brain, allowing more access to our emotions and intuition. It gives us a chance to process the trauma in a different or new way, which can help us unburden from the emotional pain of trauma and help us heal.

“Healing involves discomfort. But so is refusing to heal. And over time, refusing to heal is always more painful.” — Resmaa Menakem
