Lindsay Mullins Carbajal, LCMFT

I am a Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapist based in with a deep passion for helping others navigate their personal journeys toward healing and transformation. I grew up in Wichita and earned my Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from Wichita State University in 2005. During college and right after, I had the opportunity to volunteer with AmeriCorps, serving two terms—first working with at-risk youth in Wichita and later in Washington, D.C., with a nonprofit focused on faith-based volunteerism. After returning to Wichita, I had a personal awakening following the sudden and traumatic loss of my father. This loss sparked a journey of grief and depression, self-discovery, and healing through my own therapy, ultimately leading me to pursue a more meaningful and purposeful career in therapy.

Losing my father was the beginning of my journey, but it was the loss of my only sibling years later that truly deepened my understanding of emotion, stuckness, unrealized trauma, and the profound impact of grief and loss. These losses have been my greatest teachers, showing me the depths of human pain and the healing power of connection. Through these personal experiences, I discovered how vital it is to fully embrace and process pain of all sorts, and how essential human connection is in the healing process.

In 2011, I earned my Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from Friends University. Since then, I’ve enjoyed supporting others on their own healing journeys. I believe that lasting transformation occurs when we fully understand ourselves and engage authentically with others in meaningful human connection. With a holistic approach to therapy—focusing on the mind, body, and spirit through an emotion-focused and attachment-based lens—I work to create a safe, supportive environment where clients can explore their true selves and find peace and acceptance, even in the face of life's struggles.

As a therapist, I specialize in working with adults and couples, addressing issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, phobias, and relationship struggles. I also have a special focus on grief and loss, drawing from my own experiences to help others navigate these difficult times. In addition to traditional therapy, I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) Therapy and Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy, specialized approaches particularly effective in treating trauma and complex PTSD.

Outside of work, I am deeply rooted in family life. I’m married with a step-son and two children, and we enjoy being active outdoors, traveling, hiking, biking, and experiencing new cultures. Above all, I value the importance of authentic relationships and feel privileged to walk alongside others in their journey of healing.
